Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 September 2026
RidgeReader ("we", "us") builds outdoor navigation technology. This policy explains what information we collect through ridgereader.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We have tried to keep it short and readable.
What we collect
Right now this website does one thing: it takes waitlist signups. When you fill in that form we collect:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- Whether you asked to receive product release updates
We also collect anonymous, aggregated traffic statistics — page views, referring site, country, and device type. This data contains no cookies and nothing that identifies you personally.
What we do with it
We use your name and email address solely to contact you about RidgeReader: beta access, launch news, and occasional product updates. That's it. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Who processes it
Two service providers handle data on our behalf:
- beehiiv — stores our mailing list and sends our email. See the beehiiv privacy policy.
- Vercel — hosts this website and provides the anonymous traffic statistics described above. See the Vercel privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep your details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. Email admin@ridgereader.com and we will action it within 30 days. If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have these rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA respectively — but we extend them to everyone regardless of where you live.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics are cookie-free by design, which is why you are not being asked to dismiss a consent banner.
Children
RidgeReader is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use your email address will be announced by email before they take effect.
